※アメリカでは「ラウンド」というシステムを使っています。ラウンド１は秋にスタートします。そして多くのスクールが３つ、まれに３つ以上のラウンドで１年を分けています。典型例としてラウンド１が１０月／１１月、ラウンド２が１２月／１月、最後にラウンド３が２月／３月となります。そして多くのスクールは留学生の申請に対してラウンド２に締切りを設けています。しかしラウンド２以外のケースもありますので申請の締切りはスクール毎に確認する必要があります。 またヨーロッパではもっと複雑になっており、多くは一つの締め切りを設けています。締切りは春の時期が多いですが、ケンブリッジ大学などアメリカのラウンドの形式をとっている大学もあります。
